Located at Saint-Romain, just a few minutes from Beaune, the capital of Burgundy wines, this small house is perfect for travellers seeking quiet, rest and magnificent scenery.

Nestling in lush greenery this beautiful detached house dating from 1886 offers 150m² of living area. It is ideal for a couple, on their own or with up to 3 children, looking for new vistas, rest and comfort. Its two treed gardens, one facing east and the other west, provide the calm you seek and stunning views over the vineyards and the Hautes Côtes de Beaune. The living room patio will suffuse your meals with sunlight, while the patio off the downstairs bedroom will watch over your siestas!

The living rooms

Covering the entire ground-floor it offers a 50m² living space.
Here wood, stone and light combine warmth and character harmoniously.

This space consists of an American-style kitchen with an ancient wooden bar, and a lounge/dining-room boasting a magnificent fireplace.
The fully fitted and equipped kitchen has everything you need: fridge, freezer, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher, coffee-maker, kettle, toaster, etc. There is also an extensive range of crockery, dishes and pans. The large oak table is a perfect setting for friendly family meals, the sofa a haven for reading and naps. The typical Burgundy fireplace will keep you warm if the weather turns cold. While the magnificent view from the patio will take your breath away!

The Bedrooms

The house has two bedrooms: one master bedroom on the garden level with a splendid patio, and one bedroom upstairs on the mezzanine with three single beds.

The spacious master bedroom is bathed in light. It is on the garden level, with a spiral staircase from the living room to lead you there. This stylish, characterful bedroom contains one double bed and one single bed. It is a welcoming room with large windows giving direct access to the garden. A large staircase leads to the mezzanine bedroom. Located under the eaves, the very stylish mezzanine bedroom features three single beds. Opening off it is a games and leisure area with a sofa and television.

Saint-Romain is a mere 15 minutes from Beaune and 7 minutes from Meursault. As well as enjoying the spectacular natural environment, you can enjoy the many nearby tourist and wine attractions.

The area is criss-crossed by many hiking and mountain-bike routes, offering magnificent nature trails. Stroll through Saint-Romain with its ancient château and spectacular cliffs. Close by is the village of La Rochepot with its château. In Meursault you can enjoy tastings proposed by the wine-makers, and step back in time to the era of the film "La Grande Vadrouille". Beaune boasts not only the world-famous Hospices but also a myriad of enticing streets and alleyways to explore. In short, there is lots to do around Saint-Romain! Prices & reservation

La Hulotte is owned by Marie-Pierre and François Mikulski. The gîte is managed by Elisabeth and Philippe Leneuf, from Meursault.

It is mainly rented for the week or weekend, but in the off-season it can be rented for midweek stays. Sheets and towels are provided. Animals are allowed, without additional charge, subject to prior approval. Internet connection is available. Wood for the fireplace can be bought on the spot for €50 per cubic metre. A heating charge may be added to the rental cost, depending on the season. The configuration of the house does not make it possible to reduce the reception of people with reduced mobility
